My wife and I are involved with a new nonprofit called BookMentors. The organization was founded just last year. The purpose is to create an online system dedicated to donating of books to students (through their teachers). Teachers will be posting requests on the site. The site will be ready sometime later this year.

I am an extremely hard working person. I've been installing floorcovering for over 20 yrs now and paying the price. the economy is just killing my business and my body is breaking down to the point to where I'm in pain with my knees and back everyday. but, I have to work through the pain because I cannot afford health ins. I have been more then generous to family and friends for years. Now that I am in need there is no one to turn to for reasons such as not having any money themselves or simply not caring enough "for me now " Anything that you can contribute to help me would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much and god bless.

I am a mom in need of $650 rental assistance. Hello to all contributors! I am in desperate need of help with rent money for the month of October, which is pass due, and November 2011 is just around the corner. I am from West Hartford, CT. 44 years old, been unemployed since June of this year, and have had no luck in finding a job. I'm depressed and don't have family or friends to turn to. I have always been self-reliant but for the past 3 years, financially, It has been painful struggling, some days I just feel like giving it all up... don't ask me what that means because I don't know or won't know until it happens... I need to raise $800 by Nov. 10th, 2011, or my landlord will evict me from her property. Me and my husband have4 wonderful children. Our problem is we are both out of work and are on the verge of being either split up or homeless or both.We have no car and no health insurance for ourselves, although thankfully the kids have Medicaid. We are living on my unemployment and food stamps. It's great that we have that help, but my unemployment isn't anywhere near enough to pay the bills and it's about to run out anyway. Things are looking pretty bad for us. We need a vehicle to have a way to work if we can find a job andwe need money for the bills like yesterday. Plus, school will start again soon and all the kids need shoes and supplies. I feel like I've tried to get help from every agency out there and Idon't know what to do next! Does anyone have any ideas? Are there any independent people who would donate to a good cause? My kids are smart and very talented. They would be investing in the futures of some very bright kids! :) I hope someone will feel a need to helpus!

I'm an expecting mom, due in Aug. I've been put on strict bedrest and cannot work, and we just moved to the state.
